You’re Busy…But Are You Making Progress?

You’re Busy…But Are You Making Progress?

There’s a sentence I’ve heard countless times over the past 30 years.

"I've been trying so hard."

And I believe it.

Most women I coach are trying hard.

They're reading books.

Listening to podcasts.

Watching videos.

Saving healthy recipes.

Buying supplements.

Researching the "best" meal plan.

Trying intermittent fasting.

Starting another challenge.

They're busy.

Very busy.

But here's the uncomfortable question...

Is all that activity actually moving you any closer to your goal?

Because being busy and making progress are not the same thing.

In fact, sometimes they're completely different things.

Activity Feels Good. Progress Feels Different.

Our brains love the feeling of checking boxes.

Ordering a new planner feels productive.

Watching another nutrition video feels productive.

Researching the perfect workout feels productive.

None of those things are bad.

Until they quietly replace the behaviors that actually change your body.

At some point, planning has to become doing.

Learning has to become practicing.

Research has to become repetition.

Otherwise, activity becomes another form of procrastination.

Not because you're lazy.

Because activity gives you the emotional reward of feeling productive without requiring the discomfort of consistent execution.

That's a trap far more women fall into than they realize.

The "Busy Trap"

Here's something I want you to consider.

Some women spend more time thinking about healthy living than actually living it.

That isn't criticism.

It's awareness.

There comes a point where another cookbook won't help.

Another podcast won't help.

Another meal plan won't help.

Because the next breakthrough isn't hidden inside more information.

It's hidden inside doing the simple things you already know.

Eating enough protein.

Strength training consistently.

Walking regularly.

Sleeping enough.

Repeating those habits when life gets busy—not just when life is easy.

Those behaviors aren't exciting.

They're effective.

And effectiveness is what changes your body.

Intensity Can Be Another Distraction

I also think we've confused intensity with effectiveness.

The harder the workout...

The stricter the diet...

The more exhausted we are...

The more committed we feel.

But commitment isn't measured by how miserable your plan makes you.

It's measured by whether you can still follow it three months from now.

I've seen women lose weight on incredibly restrictive plans.

I've also seen almost every one of those plans end the same way.

Not because the women lacked discipline.

Because the plan demanded more than real life could sustain.

Your healthiest lifestyle should fit inside your life—not require you to escape it.

Introducing the Progress Filter

That's why I want to give you one question to carry with you this week.

I call it The Progress Filter.

Before you spend time, money, or energy on anything related to your health, ask yourself:

"Will this actually move me closer to my goal...or will it simply make me feel productive?"

It's a surprisingly revealing question.

Because sometimes the answer is uncomfortable.

Sometimes buying another supplement feels easier than preparing tomorrow's lunch.

Sometimes researching workouts feels easier than completing the one already on your calendar.

Sometimes starting over feels easier than simply continuing.

The Progress Filter helps cut through that noise.

Busy Doesn't Win. Repeatable Wins.

One of the biggest mindset shifts I hope you'll make is this:

Your body doesn't reward how hard you worked.

It responds to what you repeated.

That's why consistency beats intensity.

That's why simple often beats complicated.

That's why sustainable almost always beats extreme.

You don't need to become the woman with the busiest health routine.

You need to become the woman who consistently does the things that matter most.

Those are two very different goals.

One Challenge This Week

Before tomorrow ends, write down your biggest health goal.

Then identify the three behaviors most likely to move you toward it.

Not ten.

Three.

Now ask yourself something important:

How much of your time is actually spent doing those three things...and how much is spent doing everything else?

That answer may explain why you've been working so hard without seeing the progress you expected.

Because at the end of the day...

Busy measures how much you did.

Progress measures what changed.

And if you remember only one thing from this article, let it be this:

Don't confuse movement with progress.

Your future isn't built by doing more.

It's built by repeatedly doing what matters most.

Ready to Stop Spinning Your Wheels?

If you're tired of working hard without seeing the results you deserve, maybe you don't need another diet.

Maybe you need someone to help you identify what actually moves the needle—and give you permission to let go of the rest.

That's exactly what I help women do every day.

If you'd like to learn more about working together, I'd love to hear from you.

And I'd love to hear from you in the comments:

What's one health-related activity that keeps you busy...but probably isn't moving you forward?

You may be surprised how many other women are ready to let go of the same thing.
